Corner view : favorite fiction

 from Beth

My favorite fiction is the one I can share with someone. We are a bilingual family and so we often have the same book in one, two or three languages. German, Dutch, Scandinavian and (often) English ones, I read them in German. And, if I like them, I buy the French translation (if there is one) for my family and friends. With French, Italian, Spanish etc. books, I proceed in the other way, first French, then German. But – no doubt – the children's books are the most shared ones… perhaps we (parents) are not really grown up…?

  13. That's a lot of languages for one family. We are a bilingual family, and until not too long ago, would by italian or english books only in their original language. But my boys only really read in italian, so now we buy translations.

So macht Französischlernen Spaß! Un grand plaisir! ;o)

  15. Our children read much better French than German, Francesca, and since I believe that you must not read without pleasure, they read a lot more in French…
