notre marathon du mercredi… – gallischer Mittwochsmarathon – Wednesday's marathon

°…+

In France there is no school on Wednesdays, the whole day or at least in the afternoon. The other days, children come home rather late, about 5 o'clock p.m or later (and there are homeworks to do). So on Wednesdays, mothers or babysitters try to do with the kids all that can't be done during the rest of the week : music, sport, buying new shoes, going to the dentist… I hate it but I can't allways avoid it… I should follow the example of our cat… she's never running through Paris neither on Wednesdays nor the other days of the week…

  1. A very clever cat! (like most cats are !) Is she a Birmese cat ???
We have two staying over (a brown and a blue) of our daughter, but had two ourselves a few years ago. The mother of one was coloured like yours ... We called that a "Zauberball" : there were sweets in Holland that turned into another colour every now and then when you sucked it : they said mother cats like that can have all kind of coloured kittens ;-)
Have a nice and quiet rest of the week !

No, Els, Augustine is an ordinary cat, no pedigree. But quite clever… you're right!

  13. do they go to school on saturdays or is it 4 full school days a week? it's good to have midweek off, though I can see how hectic it would get.

  14. No, not on Saturday, Francsesca – fortunately! 4 days 1/2 (our children go to school on Wednesday morning, because of the bilingual system of their school). But the days are very long for the kids…
